Pre-Term Labor?

Well, I'm hanging out in the hospital tonight. Blah.

I am 26 weeks and 1 day pregnant.
I've had lots of Braxton Hicks contractions during the last few weeks.
Yesterday they were plentiful, but not painful.
I noticed many contractions during a dinner party at my mom's last night.
Once I got into bed last night they began to be very consistent.
From 12:30 am until about 4:00 am they were every 2-4 minutes.
No pain, no cramping, no bloody show, nothing. Just consistent contractions. Finally I fell asleep.
They began again around 9:30 this morning.
I came into the hospital at 11:30 this morning.
My sister brought me as Tyler was in the middle of leading worship for 2nd service :)
I AM NOT DILATED! Praise the Lord.
My Fetal Fibronectin Test did come back positive.
I am on medication to stop the contractions.
I am on steroids to boost the babies lungs, just in case.
I am on IV antibiotics in case I have an infection that might be causing the contractions.
The meds to stop the contraction work for about 3 hours, then I start up again.
This is strange.
I have so many fluids in me I feel like I could pop.
I love the hospital ice.
I love the hospital bathtub. I didn't have to clean it before getting in.
The only thing missing was a glass of wine.
If I progress at all they will whisk me away to Kansas City.
Apparently they don't like 26 week old babies at this hospital.
I have great peace.
God is on the throne ruling and reigning.
Christ is at His right hand interceding for me.
The Holy Spirit is at work in me.

**If you read this, please leave a comment. I'm very bored and would like something to read.**

First I have to say that I am so glad that God has so obviously given you peace thru this. Praise Him! I have no doubt that from the sounds of it you have an amazing group of nurses and doctors taking care of you right now, taking all of the necessary steps at just the right time. I am praying that this is simply your body preparing very early for a shorter wonderful birth. Perhaps each of these "painless" contractions is one less contration you will have during "true" labor in approxtimatly 13 more weeks. ;) It sounds like you are just where you need to be! So I hope you can continue to relax. And I actually hope that someone reading this in Kansas WILL bring you some wine as I hear that it CAN ACTUALLY help with pre-term labor. You know... relax the body...relax the uterus. But I have been known to come from a 'crazy' side of pregnancy/birth school of thought;)
I love you! And I am praying for you, your baby, and your family.
PS I am expecting your blog to be fully updated during your "boring" hospital stay. haha.
PSS I know exactly what ice you are talking about.. is it like Sonic...the round little balls of ice?!?!?! mummm Vanilla Coke Anyone???.....

Hey girl! I'm so glad you have peace and are resting in Him tonight. Seriously, I can't believe number 4 is giving you a little drama! :) I can't help but remember the good ol days in Franklin whe. You were prego with Brenan and I was so excited!! I remember the night he was born vividly. It was my first birth to be at (even though not in the room) it was an honor to get to meet him only a few minutes old!

All will be well. You know who is in control. Love you girl!

Lindsay, just let me know if you need anything between now and Wednesday. I'll be around Lawrence and would love to run errands or entertain the children you already birthed.

Glad you know that God's got his hand on that sweet belly bump of yours.

Oh Lindsay! Sorry you are in the hospital...I am praying for you right now as I am awake nursing my precious new one! I know God has a purpose for even this! Ultimately, may you simply rest and watch in wonder as God's perfect intricate plan unfolds! May you continue to have an abundance of peace during this time!
Oh and take advantage of the alone time!! Sounds lovely to me. :). Oh and people will bring you things! More coke, more ice, another Popsicle...I think I am getting jealous of you right now! Ha!
Love you girl! Praying, praying praying for you, baby, Tyler and your kiddos at home!

You've got a big job (4kids) a head of you! I love you and you're the BEST mother of 3.6 children in the world!!! xoxoxo momma

Hey Lindsay! My mom called yesterday to tell us, I've been thinking about you. This is almost exactly what happened with Owen. (I was dilated though and had a history of preemies)I was also 26 weeks. There was always the thought that it would just stop one day, hopefully yours will.

Sounds like your head is in the right place though! We will be praying for you and your little one!

Call if you need anything 913-261-8400

just saw your posts on facebook and thought i would read the whole story here. i can't imagine being in your position but good for you for being so positive!

i read one of the earlier posts about wine and slowing down the contractions...my father in law (the obgyn) said back in the day if women were in preterm labor they would give them a 20% alcohol drip to slow it down--or tell them to go home and have a couple of screwdrivers! can you believe that?! that's a little drastic, but a little red wine could be a good thing. just a thought.

take it easy and keep updating us as you can! but i know with the holidays blogging and fb'ing isn't the first thing on your mind. :)

i will pray for you and hope baby clements won't make his/her entrance for a loooong time! hang in there.

merry christmas also!

I was just about to call you....hmm.
I am so sorry to hear that things are rough! ugh.

I am praying phil 4:6 for you today- cliche, but good. it sounds like the peace of God has already transcended--- that's awesome.

I know everyone else had said that they would love to take care of your kids, but really, I would LOVE to do that if you need me to.
I love you!

Hey Friend, Dawn (Heybrock) here. This is crazy! I guess by time #4 comes around your body knows what to do...just a little bit too early! I am hoping to see Alison over Christmas...which there was a way to connect with you too but we will be meeting up in KS. I will check back in because I am so curious what is going to happen. And saying a little prayer for you right now! Do you know the gender? peace.

Lindsay - I have been praying for and thinking about you since yesterday morning. We filled in for Kellie in the nursery so we were told what was going on with you. So glad that baby is sitting tight! We'll keep you in our prayers!

P.S. Hope you get our Christmas card - J.Lichte was going to put it on Tyler's desk for me. ;)
