This thing was a beast to put together. Thanks babe! When I saw that the hardware alone took up an entire 8ft table, I had my doubts. But he had no problems at all (besides finding the time to work on it). Let's just say there were a few late nights spent reading directions in the dark.The large black area is now all filled in with mulch and it looks so nice! Now we need to get to work making the rest of the yard look nice. Or maybe not. Time is a hot commodity right now and the yard is not at the top of that list.

I've been thinking a lot about summer these days (Brennan's last day of school is Tuesday!). Last year I let summer run me over. This year I'd like to be in charge. I'm trying to get the toys organized inside, I've made chore charts, I'm working on a Job Jar and a Reward Jar. I've got big ideas, but we'll see what pans out {grin}.
What are you doing to prepare for summer? Do you feel the need to organize your house before it begins? Do your kids have organized activities or do you just chill at the pool all summer? Seriously, I'd love to hear how you all do things. I love hearing others' ideas, so leave a comment!

I try to do an activity in the AM (park, zoo, errands etc) Rest in the afternoon (or the kids can play outside) and then late afternoon/evening we hit the pool. That's what we did last summer and it worked well for us. We will see how my energy level is this summer!

2. If you lived on Marco Island, it'd be easy. When my mom and I babysat Austen for a week, we'd got to the beach all morning and top it off with a stroller ride that always put her to sleep. After lunch, we'd play inside because it was too hot outside, and then after dinner go for another stroller ride around the block. You should really move to an island in Florida. :)
well.... my genius ideas for your summer plans include all of the following;
1.) Tyler and Lindsay go on date nights Tuesdays, Saturdays, Thursdays, Mondays, Fridays, and Wednesdays nights...
2.) Kathryn comes over and plays with Charlotte, Brennan, Margo, and Calvin, on Friday, Tuesday, Thursday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Monday nights...

I plan on working in the mornings and spending the afternoons with a book by our apartment pool!
